The Divine Emergence of Maa Baglamukhi

As per ancient scriptures, during the sacred era of Satyuga, a powerful and destructive storm emerged, threatening to annihilate the entire cosmos. Witnessing the devastation and turmoil inflicted upon all living beings, Lord Vishnu grew deeply concerned and sought refuge in Lord Shiva. Moved by Vishnu’s sincere devotion and desire to protect creation, Lord Shiva guided him to invoke the Supreme Feminine Power — Adi Shakti — to counter this chaos. Following this guidance, Lord Vishnu performed deep penance at a sacred site known as Haridra Sarovar in the Saurashtra region. Pleased with his devotion, Adi Shakti manifested herself in the form of Maa Baglamukhi from the golden waters of the lake and, with her divine power, instantly stilled and subdued the raging storm. Because of this divine act, Maa Baglamukhi came to be revered as the Goddess of Stambhan — the one who has the power to arrest, immobilize, and neutralize all forms of negativity, chaos, and adversarial forces.
Maa Baglamukhi is traditionally adorned in yellow garments, and this color holds profound spiritual importance in her worship. She is also fondly known as Pitambara Devi, meaning "She who wears yellow."
